THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE DRESSES...

From the Wardrobe of Maree W-B

Here are some of my pretty summer frocks which I just adore. Nothing beats a dress in my opinion. They make you feel gorgeous and feminine, most of them are very comfortable, and they provide a whole outfit in one garment! I like things in soft pastel colours and delicate fabrics, which I know are a pain to hand wash, but it's well worth it!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ROSE TINTED ILLUSTRATION!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Here's a little illustration I've been working on for the holiday season. I'm just really loving a good 50's style at the moment. I mean I always have, but I've purchased a few things lately that are particularly 50's. Like a floral & polka dot swimsuit I got for Christmas, and there's a pretty vintage floral dress I'm about to order! (I'll share images when I get it).

A SINGLE BLOOM FROM MY LOVE...

Rose Tinted Photography

Every year around November/December my darling husband brings me one of my favourite flowers; a peony. Just a single bloom, nothing too fancy or elaborate. As much as I adore flowers, I honestly do not need him to bring them to me all the time. Just once as an annual thing makes it all the more special.

A ritual, a tradition, a romantic gesture, something to treasure, a fleeting beauty.

PAPER DOLL ILLUSTRATIONS // BY STARDUST SOUL

Paper Doll illustrations by Anto of Stardust Soul

Seriously wow! I am absolutely smitten with these super cute and very stylish paper doll illustrations by Anto of Stardust Soul. You must visit her blog! It is full of pretty things and although I only just discovered it a few minutes ago, it's already my new favourite read.

I've always loved paper dolls, I was very fond of them as a child and had a large file full of them. I've been thinking of doing something similar for awhile now using my own clothes. That way I can plan outfits in advance. This would be particularly helpful for the six weddings I'm attending this Summer! I don't want to wear the same thing cause where's the fun in that?

A paper doll is something that would be a lovely idea to send to a young girl sponsor child if you have one (please consider it! If everyone did we could seriously change the world).

Anto has very kindly offered these as a free printable over on her blog! I can't wait to print them out and go back to playing with doll clothes. I love the style of these clothes! You should know by now that I am a sucker for all things floral, pastel or lace. But I can also really see my sister Eloise from Jazz Lips & Tulips wearing a lot of these garments. Especially those peg leg pants and cute jumpers!

SPELL DESIGNS LOOKBOOK // CALIFORNIA DREAMING: PART THREE

Spell Holiday 13/14 Look book California Dreaming
Photographer Zoey Grossman
Styling Ashley Glorioso
Model Charlotte Free @ IMG
H&M Ashlee Rose
Daisy-chain head crown by CJS Flower Crowns

There's nothing better than a gorgeous floaty garment to wear at the seaside, and this ocean blue kimono is just a dream. Plus something like this is just incredible for a photographer to capture because of the way it moves in the breeze and captures the light. I love how airy and spacious the beach location is for this shoot, which is perfectly fitting for this kimono!

This is another part of the Spell Design Lookbook that I really liked. The dreamy white light from the sheer curtains, the cute romper with brown ankle boots & belt, and the overall boho vibe.

Loving this lookbook by Spell Designs! The gorgeous Charlotte Free is such a babe with her ombré pink hair and spunky attitude. The perfect model to embody the Spell brand with it's carefree easy summer style!

There's no better summer garment then a little white dress, don't you think? I particularly love this one with its little eyelet cut outs and pretty embroidery.

I've chosen my favourite frames from this lookbook to share in 3 separate posts here on the Rose Tinted blog, but to see the rest click here.

STRAWBERRY FIELDS ILLUSTRATION // WITH JULIA TROTTI PHOTOGRAPHY

Illustration : Maree W-B of Rose Tinted
Photo Reference : Julia Trotti Photography

I was so very inspired by this photoshoot by Julia Trotti for Peppermint Magazine, that I just had to illustrate the cover image of model Madeline Rae Mason. I just love her gorgeous pink hair (sometimes wish I was brave enough to do my hair pale pink). She has a captivating connection with the camera, and lovely almond shaped eyes which are always my favourite facial feature to illustrate.

I also liked the challenge of drawing the detail in her sequinned jacket. There are so many beautiful garments in this fashion spread and I just love pretty things with sequins & intricate beading.

A ROSE TINTED GIFT WRAPPING TUTORIAL OVER ON POLLI BLOG

Photography : Maree of Rose Tinted

Today I am over on the lovely Polli Blog sharing some creative ideas on how to gift wrap presents for Christmas. I think a little bit of effort into the wrapping of a gift makes receiving it all the more special. Don't you think? However it does make it harder to unravel as who would want to undo such a pretty parcel?

To see more instructions on how to beautifully wrap and decorate your gifts, be sure to visit this post on Polli Blog!

I MADE A SUMMER FLORAL KIMONO!

Photo's taken by my sister Melody
Photo Set up & Editing : Maree of Rose Tinted

If you remember this post about my dream summer garment, you would know I was hoping to make my own kimono. Well it turns out this is the easiest thing in the world to sew (as demonstrated in this sweet video tutorial). If you use a fabric that doesn't fray, you don't even need to use a sewing machine. All you need is a good pair of fabric cutting scissors.

For this kimono, I used a deep fushia floral fabric in a floaty chiffon which gives it movement and lightness. This is my favourite way to wear it, with a little black dress, black belt, gold flats and my favourite sunnies.
